This workshop encompasses lectures and hands on sessions focusing on live imaging methods for model systems such as Drosophila and Danio. The workshop will be aimed at post-doctoral, graduate and project students who work in the field of Cell and Developmental biology, have some microscopy experience and would like to learn basic and advanced imaging methods for microscopy. The registration form should be received by the 31st of March 2017. Selected participants will be informed by 30th of April 2017.

Completion of registration requires one reference letter from the lab Principal Investigator (PI) / Group Leader associated with the student/Post-Doctoral fellow detailing the experience that the applicant has with microscopy methods and how the workshop will be useful for the applicant. The registration fees for this workshop isRs. 5,000/- for graduate/project student participants and Rs. 10,000/- for post doctoral participants. The Fees includes food and accommodation (shared for students). Details of the payment will be available to the selected students at the end of the selection process.

A Lecture/Discussion Workshop on the practical uses of Crispr-Cas9 technology to edit genomes of cells in culture as also with model organisms such as flies, worms and zebrafish. The goal of the workshop is to encourage student researchers currently utilizing, or planning to utilize Crispr/Cas9 technology in their laboratory to learn practical tips that will lead to a successful editing of the genome. The teachers of the course will have practical experience in Crispr/Cas9 technology and will discuss methodologies, problems and protocols in design, cloning and genome manipulation.
